The 2024 edition of Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America – the largest seafood event in North America  will continue the show's growth trajectory in its 42nd edition.

The event, running from 10 to 12 March in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A., is currently slated for 244,965 net square feet of exhibit space and is still growing, event organizer Diversified Communications said. This growth builds on the momentum set in motion at last year’s event, when the show increased by 25 percent in size year over year.

“The presence of exhibitors from more than 45 countries in the exhibit hall demonstrates the significance of the North American market on the seafood industry at large,” Diversified Communications Vice President of Seafood Wynter Courmont said in a release. “Countries including Norway, the U.K., Ecuador, and Chile have increased their presence at this year’s event, and we are excited to welcome new exhibitors from countries including Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Mauritania, and Myanmar.”

The show organizer said the latest edition of the event in 2024 will feature “new experiential areas” oriented around providing show attendees more opportunities for networking with other members of the industry.

Some of the new areas include the new “Wave Makers’ Zone,” which will host a full schedule of events – including the New Product Showcase and Featured Product Showcase, the Seafood Excellence Awards, the Oyster Shucking Competition, chef demonstrations, live podcast interviews, sampling opportunities, and more.

Exhibitors this year – from emerging startups to legacy brands – will highlight innovations in multiple areas of the industry, including sustainability and aquaculture, Diversified Communications said.

Companies highlighting innovations include "Integrated Information Systems SA  a technology company helping aquaculture producers; Cesit Mensucat  a company that creates knotless nets for the seafood industry; and Seawise Innovative Packaging  a company that produces sustainable thermal packaging."

Other companies presenting their latest offerings are Mowi, Cermaq, Anova Foods, Leroy USA, Samuels Seafood, Multi X, Phillips Foods, Hofseth International AS, Seaborn AS, Harbor Seafood, Balfego & Balfego, ULMA Servicios de Mantencion, Hiddenfjord, Thermogreen, Full Measure Oyster, and more, Diversified Communications said.

Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America will also feature a conference program offering educational sessions on a number of topics relevant to the seafood industry, including aquaculture and aquatech, AI, consumer trends, and traceability, among others.

Representatives participating in panels and conference sessions include the Seafood Nutrition Partnership, U.S. Department of Labor, Seafood and Gender Equality (SAGE), Aqua-Spark, the Marine Stewardship Council, Atlantic Sea Farms, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Giant Eagle, Publix Super Markets, FishWise, Riverence, COMPESCA, the Global Seafood Alliance, and Pew Charitable Trusts.
