On an early Thursday morning with spotty rain, some customers ventured out to Pillar Point Harbor to buy the last Dungeness crabs of the season. During a late-March Risk Assessment Mitigation Program report, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife decided to close the season early due to an influx of migrating humpback whales.
